Renowned Japanese Cardiologist Teams up With Metro Hospital Faridabad to Perform Complex Angioplasty Cases

Metro Hospital Faridabad is known for its excellent cardiac treatment. In the last 15 years, cardiac team have successfully treated more than 2 lacs heart patients. Thousands of domestic and international patients have been treated and saved by the high end procedures, many of them were successfully done after failed procedure in other countries.

Recently hospital has teamed up with Renowned Japanese Cardiologist, Dr. Masakazu Nagaoka to perform 3 cases of CTO, very complex block of angioplasty. With due permission of the Indian Medical Council, Japanese Delegation came to the hospital, and along with Dr. S.S Bansal (Sr. Interventional Cardiologist & Managing Director) & Dr. Neeraj Jain (Sr. Consultant & Medical Director) performed three CTO cases together. Dr. Nagaoka is a Director in Ebina General Hospital, Kanagawa, Japan. He is a pioneer in treating chronic total occlusions (CTO) of coronary blocks and has mastered the technique of doing these most difficult and old heart blocks.

Chronic total blocks of heart arteries are those lesions which are very old, hard and calcified. They usually are long standing lesions and otherwise taken for open heart bypass surgery. Penetrating the block is real challenge in CTO as these blocks are old and very hard and extremely difficult to cross. It requires specialized skills, said Dr. S.S Bansal.

Dr. S.S Bansal and Dr. Neeraj Jain are amongst very few Indian cardiologists who are doing CTO and saving many patients of CTO from bypass surgery. Dr. Bansal said that it is fortunate to have Dr. Nagaoka with us here & it was a great learning experience for entire cardiac team. Dr. Neeraj Jain added that Japan is a world leader in cardiac innovation & it is great to perform and use new devices for angioplasty invented in Japan.
