Metro hospital Faridabad has achieved a new benchmark by performing a cochlear implant surgery on 8 year old boy from Sudan. Soon after the birth, parents realized hearing impairment in boy and various local doctors diagnosed it as congenital profound sensory neural hearing loss. Doctors advised to use hearing aid but it was not sufficient as child was facing many challenges in his day to day life.
Patient’s father consulted ENT department of Metro Hospital Faridabad with hope to gift a new life to his son. After initial examination they were advised to opt for cochlear implant surgery followed by rehabilitation therapy. After initial investigations it was found that he is an ideal candidate for cochlear implant and that this will help him lead a normal life.
