First, implants, which look like screws or cylinders, are placed into your jaw. Then, over the next two to six months, the implants and the bone are allowed to bond together to form anchors for your artificial teeth. During this time, a temporary teeth replacement option can be worn over the implant sites. Often, a second step of the procedure is necessary to uncover the implants and attach extensions. These temporary healing caps, along with various connecting devices that allow multiple crowns to attach to the implants, complete the foundation on which your new teeth will be placed. Your gums will be allowed to heal for a couple of weeks following this procedure. Various two stage implant system we are dealing with:

1. Noble Bio Care  2. Leader Implants  3. Neo-Biotech Implants  4. ARDS Implants  5. ADIN Implant System

There are some implant systems (one-stage) that do not require this second step. These systems use an implant which already has the extension piece attached. Your implantologist will advise you on which system is best for you.

Why Orthodontic treatment is required?

Orthodontic treatment is used to correct a malocclusion, involves teeth that are crowded or crooked. In some cases, the upper and lower jaws may not meet properly and although the teeth may appear straight, the individual may have an uneven bite. Protruding, crowded or irregularly spaced teeth and jaw problems may be inherited. Thumb-sucking, losing teeth prematurely and accidents also can lead to these conditions.

Correcting the problem can create a nice-looking smile, but more important, orthodontic treatment results in a healthier mouth. That's because crooked and crowded teeth make cleaning the mouth difficult, which can lead to tooth decay, gum disease and possibly tooth loss. An improper bite can interfere with chewing and speaking, can cause abnormal wear to tooth enamel, and can lead to problems with the jaws.

What are Braces made from?

Braces (also called Orthodontic Appliances) can be as inconspicuous or as noticeable as you like. Brackets the part of the braces that attach to each tooth are smaller and can sometimes be attached to the back of the tooth, making the brackets less noticeable. Brackets may be made of metal, ceramic, plastic or a combination of these materials. Some brackets are clear or tooth-colored. There are brackets shaped like hearts and footballs, and elastics (orthodontic rubber bands) in school colors or holiday hues such as red, white and blue.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic Dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance.

Cosmetic Dentistry may involve:

Whitening, or "tooth bleaching", is the most common cosmetic dental procedure

• Tooth reshaping removes parts of the enamel to improve the appearance of the tooth. It may be used to alter the length to position the teeth, to correct a small chip, or position or shape of teeth. It is also known as enameloplasty, odontoplasty, contouring, recontouring, , stripping

• Gum depigmentation (gum bleaching) is a procedure used in cosmetic dentistry to remove black spots or patches on the gums caused by excessive melanin.

• Dental bridges are artificial teeth, known as a pontics, which are fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in areas left by missing teeth. This is known as a fixed bridge. And it replaces one or more missing teeth.

• Veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth's surface from damage. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer: composite and dental porcelain. A composite veneer may be directly placed in mouth,or indirectly fabricated by a dental technician in a dental lab, and later bonded to the tooth, In contrast, a porcelain veneer may only be indirectly fabricated.
